37 people barred from contesting elections for 6 yrs

Madikeri, Karnataka, Apr 19 (UNI) As many as 37 people, who had contested the Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat elections in the Kodagu district last time, have been banned from contesting elections for a period of six years.

As 12 candidates who had contested for Kodagu Zilla Panchayat and 25 who stood for the Taluk Panchayat polls had not submitted their election expenditure statements, the State Election Commission had banned them from contesting elections for six years.
