22 mediapersons to recieve Matrishree Awards
New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Twenty-two mediapersons will be honoured by the Matrishree Media Awards for 2007, for their contribution to journalism.
Aditi Kaul of Times of India, Rajesh Ahuja of UNI, Akashdeep Anand of Univarta, Rajesh Dua, Doordarshan, Pramod Mehta, AIR, Sheminjoy, PTI, Amrut Mohan, Bhasha, and Vibha Sharma, Hindustan Times, Sumitra Goyal, Punjab Kesari are among those named for the award this year.
Gaurav Dwivedi of Zee News, Urdu journalist Asghar Ansari, Ajesh Kumar (Dainik Hindustan), Virendra Verma (Navbharat Times), Vinod Dabas (Amar Ujala), and Rashtriya Sahara's photojournalist Rangnath Tewari will also be honoured.
The award, which was instituted by Matrishree Media Awards Organising Committee in 1977, comprises a sheild, a certificate and a pen.
Apart from the recognition to the mediapersons, three other awards will also be given away--one for the best feature film, and two others for contribution in medical and social services, a statement by Organising Committee convenor Dinesh Sharma said.
While Hritik Roshan starrer 'Krrish' has been named as the best feature film, Mr Shyamlal Garg will be honoured for his social work and Dr Ashok Makhija for his contribution to medical service.
The awardees will recieve the honour at a function to be held on April 29.
