'Yade Iqbal' to be held on April 21

Bhopal, Apr 18 (UNI) A special programme 'Yade Iqbal' is being organised by the Allama Iqbal Sahitya Prabhag of the Sahitya Academy to commemorate the 69th birth anniversary of renowned poet and thinker Allamma Iqbal, who wrote the famous song 'Sare Jahan se Achha Hindustan Hamara', on April 21.

Madhya Pradesh Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma would be the chief guest on the occasion.

The programme would be organised at the Mulla Ramuji Sanskriti Bhavan in the state capital. The programme would start at 1900 hrs.

Sahitya Academy Director Devendra Deepak said two lectures would be delivered on the topic 'Rang va Khushbu aur Aab' from the shayari of Allama Iqbal followed by a 'mushayara'.

Madhya Pradesh's Rashtriya Iqbal Samman recipient and New Delhi-based litterateur Sfit Sarosh and Bhopal's Professor Afaq Ahmed would deliver the lectures.

Dr Rashid Indori (Indore), Dr Saifi Sironji (Sironj), Ahmed Kamal Parvaji (Ujjain), Guruswami (Sehore) and Shayar Ishrat Qadri, Prof Syed Akhtar, Dr Govind Arya Nishat, Nusrat Mehdi, Arif Ali Arif and Dr Mehtab Alam (all Bhopal) would pay tribute to Iqbal by reciting their poems during the 'mushayara'.

Mr Sharma would release 'Majlis-e-iqbal' a book published by the Iqbal Prabhag on this occasion.
