Teacher arrested for raping minor student

Jammu, Apr 18 (UNI) A private school teacher was arrested for allegedly raping a seventh class student in the city outskirts here in Jammu and Kashmir, police today said.

SP (South Jammu) Zahid Manhas told UNI that a class VII student of Bansal High School Kaluchack had alleged that she was raped by her teacher, Jetinder Singh, son of Mr Narinder Singh, of Birpur village, in the classroom yesterday.

On the allegations of the victim, her parents lodged an FIR with the Gangyal police station and the accused was arrested.

Police were waiting for the medical report of the victim, which was yet to be received, Mr Manhas said, adding the accused was in the lockup.
