State govt to open 1257 more Anganwadi centres

Agartala, Apr 18 (UNI) The Centre has allowed the Tripura government to open more 1257 Anganwadi centres.

About Rs 39 crores have been alloted for construction of houses for the 2220 Anganwadi centres. The state had received Rs 20 crores so far in this regard.

State Social Welfare and Education Minister Manik Dey said there are 6120 Anganwadi centres in the state and most of them have no proper infrastructure.

The state government had been working to modernise the centres, official sources said.

All the construction work would start soon, official sources said.
