Six held for preparing counterfeit currency
Shahdol, MP, Apr 18 (UNI) Six people have been arrested in Annupur district on the charge of manufacturing counterfeit notes, police said today.
Based on the interrogation of two accused, who were nabbed in the past week for possessing counterfeit notes, police arrested Dhanganva-resident Loknath Dwivedi and Annupur-based computer expert Rajkumar Rathore on April 16.
Four agents -- Santosh Rathore, Ramaiya Lal Kewat, Bakram Rathore and Angad Kewat -- who circulated the counterfeit notes prepared by Loknath and Rajkumar were also arrested on April 16.
A computer, a scanner, a printer, ink and paper used for preparing notes were also seized from the accused.
Earlier, counterfeit notes worth Rs five lakh and Rs 27,000 were recently seized from Shahdol and Annupur districts respectively.
Police suspected that the six accused must have destroyed counterfeit notes in their possession after the racket was busted a few days back.
UNI
