Select metals recover on fresh industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 18 (UNI) Select metal prices today recovered on fresh industrial demand and the London Metal exchange also rose, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy rose by Rs 500 per quintal while copper utensils and brass cuttings hiked by Rs 300 each per quintal. Brass utensils rose by Rs 100 per quintal on increased demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars shot up by Rs 500 per quintal while aluminium ingots and zinc slab increased by Rs 150 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.
Tin slab came down by Rs two per kg on thin buying support while nickel cathode edged up by Rs 40 per kg on improved demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,000, Copper utensils - Rs 33,800, Brass utensils - Rs 26,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 12,000.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 10,500, Tin slab - Rs 798 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,360 (per kg).
