Rights seminar at Army War College

Indore, Apr 18 (UNI) International humanitarian rules and human rights were discussed during a two-day seminar in the Army War College at the nearby Military Headquarters of War.

''Officer trainees should disseminate information regarding humanity's ideals among civilians,'' College Commandant Lieutenant-General J K Mohanty said while discussing Indian values and a history of valour. The event concluded yesterday.

International Committee of the Red Cross South Asia head Vincent Nicard threw light on the ICRC's necessity and role, implementation of humanitarian rules and answerability.

Brigadier (Retd) M B Anand spoke on the need for international humanitarian rules. The Senior Command Wing's Major-General Bharadwaj also delivered an address. Among those present were officer trainees from Kenya, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Bhutan.
