Pondy Speaker's plea for quorum

Puducherry,Apr 18 (UNI) Speaker R Radhakrishnan today advised the members to ensure adequate quorum to conduct the House when they went outside for refreshments.

It was regular practice for the members to go out for refreshments immediately after the Zero Hour when there were debates.

Recalling yesterday's situation which led to adjournment of House due to lack of quorum, the Speaker said a minimum of nine members had to be present for conduct of the House business.

The members should ensure the others returned before they left for refreshments, he said.
