Nominated member Karen Hilton takes oath as Uttarakhand MLA

Dehradun, Apr 18 (UNI) Nominated member Karen Meyer Hilton today took oath as a MLA of the Uttarakhand assembly, swelling the BJP ranks to 36 in the 71-member House.

Ms Hilton (31), an educationist who runs a school in the state capital, was nominated to represent the Anglo-Indian community by the Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri Government.

She was administered the oath of office by Speaker Harbans Kapoor at his Vidhan Sabha office in the presence of Chief Minister Khanduri.

She has been a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2004.
