Mulyam hits out at Mayawati

Bahraich, Apr 18 (UNI) Inveighing BSP supremo Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today said those selling tickets should not talk about developing the state.

''Mayawati is a political humbug. She is true to no one. When BSP comes to power, she would not mind insulting Vaishyas, Kshatriyas and even Brahmins,'' Mr Yadav alleged while addressing election gatherings in Bahraich and Shravasti districts.

Lambasting the BSP supremo for terming minorities as terrorists, Mr Yadav observed, ''such statements are not new for Mayawati. She passes such comments to woo a section of voters. She should now realise that the CM's chair is too far from her reach.'' ''I not providing shelter to history-sheeters as she alleges. I had withdrawn cases against the Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists as they were innocent. Everyone knows that the place of an innocent is not in jail,'' the former defence minister underlined.

''People of all the communities are with SP. That is the reason, why the opposition is unnecessarily training guns at the 3-year-old UP regime,'' he lamented.

Terming Congress as lifeless in UP, Mr Yadav said, ''after being rejected in Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh and the recently concluded MCD poll in Delhi, one thing is sure that the party will also lose the ongoing UP election.'' ''Under my rule, all including farmers, bussinessmen and youth have progressed. I never neglected anyone and constantly worked for the welfare of all the sections,'' he claimed.

''After coming to power, I would ensure free treatment to cancer patients, while every farmer will get free electricity. Everyone knows that I do not make hollow promises. All these announcements would be implemented within 24 hrs of SP returning to power,'' he asserted.
