MP Police on lookout for bandit's wealth

Shivpuri, MP, Apr 18 (UNI) After eliminating dacoit chieftain Rambabu Gadaria in this district's Kanerkho forest yesterday, the police intend to expose those who provided refuge to the bandit and guard his wealth.

''We have related information but hard evidence has to be collected. The amount runs into lakhs of rupees. The gang collected crores through abduction and extortion but its expenses were also considerable,'' District Superintendent of Police Sajid Farid Shapu told mediapersons here today.

Police said that the gang kept its money with about half-a-dozen persons in Shivpuri and Gwalior districts.

Rambabu's corpse, from which seven currency notes of Rs 1,000 denomination were seized, was handed over to his brother-in-law Dayaram Baghel and a few other relatives here last evening. The funeral took place here.
