Modi visits recycling plant in Tokyo

Gandhinagar, Apr 18 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, on the fourth day of his visit to Japan, took stock of drainage water recycling plant maintained by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Mr Modi held a series of meetings with representatives of industry, tourism and prominent Japanese multi-national companies and showed them multi-media and power point presentation of investment opportunities in Gujarat, a release issued here today said. In his meeting with tour operators of Japan, Mr Modi invited them to visit Gujarat to explore the possibilities of tourism relation between Gujarat and Japan, the release said.

''Gujarat celebrates the nine-night festival of Navratri and kite festival, which enjoys popularity among tourists from Japan'', Mr Modi said.

In Mr Modi's meeting with Japanese electronic companies, the presidents and senior officials of Toshiba and Mitsubishi expressed keen interest in the development of dedicated frieght corridor and port sector in Gujarat.

That apart, former minister of Japan and professor of Vaseda University, Mr Sakakibara, and senior officials of JBIC, Nippon, Nisin Steal, Sumitomo Corporation and Bank of Tokyo in their meeting with the Gujarat Chief Minister expressed keen desire to invest in infrastructural development sector of Gujarat, the release added.
