Mob sets oil mill afire angry over youth's electrocution
Junagadh, Apr 18 (UNI) An irate mob set a groundnut oil mill on fire after a youth, who was trying to enter the mill by scaling the compound wall, was electrocuted at the Majodi Gate area here.
Suraj Ravi Koli, aged 18, while trying to enter 'Kiran Industries', owned by Shamjibhai Sadaraya, came in contact with an electric pole and was electrocuted yesterday.
After hearing about the youth's death, nearly 2000 people gathered at the site and set the oil mill afire. As the police and fire-fighters rushed to the spot, the mob pelted stone at them.
Police had to lathicharge to quell the mob.
The owner in his complaint, claimed he had suffered a loss of Rs 50 lakh due to the fire. Besides, the victim had come to the mill with an intention to rob, he alleged.
However, the youth's relatives said Suraj was playing cricket and his ball had fallen into the compound. He had therefore tried to enter the compound to collect the ball.
