Minor girl raped by two in Mumbai
Mumbai, Apr 18 (UNI) A 15-year-old girl was raped in the megapolis last night, police today said.
Police said the girl was returning home with her boyfriend on a motorbike from Navi Mumbai. They had to stop near Aroli Bridge when the vehicle developed some technical error at about 2030 hrs.
Four Marathi speaking people in the age group of 20-22 years attacked the duo. While the boy was striked unconscious, the four took the girl down the bridge where two of them assaulted her.
Later, they dropped her near Vikroli Railway station in eastern suburbs this morning and fled.
Initially, the victim was rushed to nearby Godrej Hospital, thereafter she was shifted to state-run J J Hospital in south-central Mumbai. Her medical examination reports confirmed the rape.
A case of rape has been registered by Navghar police and further investigations are on. No arrest has been made so far.
A couple of days ago, a case of rape on a cancer patient in country's famous Tata Memorial Hospital here had come to light.
