Man kills wife, daughter

Kanpur, Apr 18 (UNI) A suspected deranged man today allegedly strangled his wife and minor daughter and critically wounded his son in Panki area here.

The accused identified as Rakesh Tiwari has been arrested.

Kanpur range DIG Daljit Chaudhary said Rakesh first strangled his wife Sunita (32) and daughter Priya (7) and then wounded his four-year-old son.

The reason behind the crime was yet to be ascertained.

Rakesh is said to have lost his mental balance after he sustained grievous injuries in an accident few days back. The family was living in abject poverty, Mr Chaudhary added.

The bodies had been sent for autopsy.
