Srinagar, Apr 18 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the Public Safety Act (PSA) against six detainees and ordered their release.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Hakeem Imtiyaz Hussain and Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani passed the release order on petitions filed by Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, Riyaz Ahmad, Adil Hussain, Muzaffar Ahmad Najar and Nazir Ahmad Bhat.

Arrested for their alleged involvement in different militancy related incidents under PSA, the detenues challenged their detention and pleaded innocent.

The bench after hearing the arguments from both sides quashed the PSA and ordered their immediate release, if they were not wanted in any other case.
