Godavari Fertilisers' sales zoom

Chennai, Apr 18 (UNI) Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (GFCL) today reported an impressive performance during 2006-07 with sales touching Rs 1,800 crore reflecting a growth of 18 per cent.

This was the fourth successive year of profitable growth since its take over by the Andhra Pradesh Government in July 2003, a company release here said.

The company also set new milestones with production volume touching all time high of 11.35 lakh MT against previous year's 10.24 lakh MT.

At the time of takeover in 2003, the company's production was 7.43 lakh tonne. Sale of manufactured products was 11.28 lakh MT (10.20 lakh MT).

The company's sales realisation improved significantly on account of better logistics management, increased market share in addressable markets and tight control over distribution costs.
