Nagaland: Former NSCN-IM shot dead

Kohima, Apr 18: Former NSCN-IM Central Administrative Officer (CAO) was shot dead by suspected rival NSCN(K) militants at Police Colony in Dimapur last night.

Official sources here today said that the deceased was identified as one Vihoto Chishi of Thilixu village under Dimapur district who had served the NSCN-IM as the CAO of Sumi Region.

The victim was driving his car when the assailants shot at him.

He died on the spot.

The family members have taken the body for his last rites.

Meanwhile, the Information and Publicity branch of NSCN-IM condemned the killing of Vihoto in the strongest of terms and described it as a 'dastardly assassination'.

In a release issued by their publicity branch,the cadres extended their condolence to the aggrieved family.
