Five get life term in kidnapping for ransom

Patna, Apr 18 (UNI) A fast track court here today awarded life imprisonment to five persons in a case of kidnapping for ransom of a school boy.

Judge K M Srivastava found Rohit Kumar alias Vicky, Jyoti Kumar alias Pappu, Bharat Dev Upadhayay, Suraj Upadhayay and Chandan Kumar Upadhayay guilty under section 364 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the charges 11-year Deepak Kumar alias Bittu was kidnapped from Bihta police station area of Patna district for a ransom of Rs. two lakhs on April 21, 2005 when he was going to school. The boy was later rescued from the captivity of the convicts in Vaishali district.
