'DCs, ZP CEOs should be appointed nodal officers for Janata Darshan'
Bangalore, Apr 18 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has directed the Chief Secretary to appoint Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officers as nodal officers for redressal of grievances brought up by the villagers to his Janata Darshan and village stay programmes.
A statement from the Chief Minister's Secretariat here noted that most of the representations to the Chief Minister pertained to seeking assistance and pension for the aged, women, widows and disabled, which could be resolved at the district level. It was not correct to approach the Chief Minister for problems that could be redressed at the district level, Mr Kumaraswamy felt.
The Deputy Commissioners and Zilla Panchayat CEOs should take care of such local issues, in default they should directly be held responsible, he said.
The Chief Minister's Janata Darshan in the city and village visits have been an instant hit with the masses, who see it as a golden opportunity to get their long-pending problems solved.
