DCC targets to lend Rs 309 crore to SHGs

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 18 (UNI) West Godavari District Consultative Committee (DCC) has targeted to lend Rs 309 crore to SHGs in rural and urban areas, which is higher than the government target.

Disclosing this at the DCC bankers meeting, District Collector Luv Agarwal said out of the total amount the major would be disbursed as loans to rural area SHGs.

He asked the project director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) to fix bank-wise targets in this regard.

He asked the Joint Director of Agriculture Mr Rameshwarayya to people-an action plan to establish 8,000 additional groups in the district.

Deputy General Manager Andhra Bank Neelmani Patel said bankers would extend their cooperation in achieving the fixed loan targets.
