Cricket bookie arrested in MP

Indore, Apr 18: One person has been arrested on the charge of collecting bets for World Cup cricket matches and Rs 21,000 seized from him, police said today.

Amarlal Birmani and his son Pinkesh were accepting bets at Dussehra ground here on the night of April 16 when police cordoned them off.

While Pinkesh was arrested, Amarlal managed to escape.

Besides cash, two mobile phones, three SIM cards and accounts sheets of betting worth several lakhs of rupees on three World Cup cricket matches were seized.
