CM stresses on infrastructure development
Agartala, Apr 18: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has stressed the importance on the development of infrastrcuture in the rural areas of Tripura under the National Rural Employment Guarantee SchemS).
During a meeting of the Tripura Rural Employment Guaranntee Council yesterday, Mr Sarkar reviewed the works in Dhalai district under the NREGS which was brought under the Centrally sponsored scheme last year.
He also gave importance to construction of roads, strengthening communication, irrigation projects and providing house and electricity in the rural areas.
''If importance is given on these issues, we can see improvement within two to three years,'' Mr Sarkar added.
Citing the example of other districts, Mr Sarkar said if the NREGS be utilised in planned way the state can reap rich benefits.
