CM stresses on infrastracture development
Agartala, Apr 18 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has stressed the importance of the development of infrastracture in the rural areas of Tripura under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
During a meeting of the Tripura Rural Employment Guarantee Council yesterday, Mr Sarkar reviewed the works in Dhalai district under the NREGS which was brought under the Centre sponsored scheme last year.
He also imphasised on the importance to construct new roads, strengthening communication network, irrigation projects and providing house and electricity in the rural areas.
''If importance is given to these issues, we can see improvement within two to three years,'' Mr Sarkar added.
Citing the example of other districts, Mr Sarkar said if the NREGS be utilised in a planned way the state can reap rich benefits.
