Badal's corruption case adjourned to April 28

Ropar, Apr 18 (UNI) A local court today adjourned a corruption case against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh, his wife Surinder Kaur Badal and their son Sukhbir Badal and seven others till April 28.

Additional Sessions Judge G S Grewal, who heard the case in the absence of Special Judge G S Saran, adjourned the case without recording the statements of the four witnesses who were present in the court. Witnesses present in the court were Tarsem Singh and Surjit Singh of the state Vigilance Bureau and Paramjit Singh and Balbir.

The court did not take any decision on the application of Mr Sukhbir Badal either seeking exemption from personel appearance in the Court. District Attorney Pradeep Mehta appeared for the prosecution while advocate Harmohinder Pal Singh was the counsel for the defence.

The case against the Badal's and others was registered by the Vigilance Bureau last year.
