Two More Years As AG For Banerji
New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Attorney General Milon Kumar Banerji, due to end his present term in seven weeks, has been reappointed for two more years, the Law and Justice Ministry announced today.
Mr Banerji's present three-year term was to conclude on June 4.
His reappointment takes effect from June 5.
A notification issued by the Ministry said, ''The President is pleased to re-appoint... Banerji, Senior Advocate as Attorney General for India for a period of two years with effect from 5th June 2007.'' Born on September 27, 1929, mR Banerji served as Attorney General from November 1992 to July 1996.
