Two arrested for accepting bribe in Aurangabad
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Apr 17 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here today arrested a tehsil clerk and his associate for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500.
The complainant, Dnyaneshwar Chavan, had approached the ACB after tehsil clerk Subhash Mane sought a bribe of Rs 1,500 to release an amount of Rs 10,000 under the government scheme meant for persons living below poverty line (BPL).
Mr Chavan's brother had died in an accident. Since the deceased belonged to the BPL group, Mr Chavan had applied for government assistance of Rs 10,000 at the tehsil office and had also submitted relevant documents.
The duo - Mane and his accomplice Dehade - were caught while accepting the bribe amount.
