Thomas condemns Centre's decision to reduce Kerala's share
Kochi, Apr 17 (UNI) Kerala Congress (Joseph)'s state Secretary General P C Thomas MP today condemned the Centre's decision to reduce Kerala's share of electricity from the centrally unallocated pool.
In a statement here, Mr Thomas said the Centre's decision to reduce the state share of electricity from 94 MW to 13 MW from the central unallocated pool would adversely affect the interest of the state.
"Even as the state government was trying to avoid power-cuts and load-sheddings in summer, the Centre was taking a decision detrimental to interests of the state,'' he said.
He said his party would organise a meeting here tomorrow to protest against the Centre's decision to reduce import duties on edible oil and rubber.
