'Terror cop' behind bars

Hansi (Hisar) Apr 17 (UNI) Haryana police's vigilance department head constable Jag Mohan Sharma notorious for his bullying and arrogant ways in the area, was arrested today under sections 452 and 506 of IPC.

Sharma was nabbed on the orders of SSP Arshinder Singh Chawla after a group of people met him to back the complaint of the head contable's latest victim Arvind Bharti, an employee of Nagar Parishad, police sources said.

Mr Bharti today lodged a police complaint that Sharma and his son had assaulted him yesterday due to which he had to be admitted to hospital.

After the people met SSP in Hisar and complained about the 'misdeeds' of the cop, Mr. Chawla himself visited Hansi and enquired about the record of the accused.

After the residents of the town impressed upon him that the cop had become a 'terror' for them, the SSP ordered the registration of case and got him arrested, sources said.

The court later sent him for a day's judicial custody.
