Panaji, Apr 17 (UNI) The BJP today expressed fears that the ''state machinery is likely to be abused during the coming Assembly elections in Goa'' and ''money and muscle power'' may be used.

The BJP, on the other hand, would go to people with the promise of ''good governance'', BJP national spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said while addressing a press conference here today.

Mr Rudy exuded confidence that the BJP would secure more than 25 of the total 40 seats in Goa. The party was yet to finalise the number of seats it would contest as against the proposed 32 as of now, he said.

He ruled out a ''hung assembly'' in Goa saying ''the mood of the people has rapidly changed in favour of the BJP''. Therefore, there is no need for the BJP to have an understanding with other parties, he added.

Former chief minister Manohar Parrikar has built up an image of an honest and popular executive of the state, while the party, too, has emerged as vibrant in Goa and has several developmental projects to its credit, Mr Rudy claimed.

On the other hand, non-performance, corruption and scandals, failure to check price rise, unemployment, infighting, lack of leadership, and several such issues are troubling the Congress rule, he said.

The incumbent Government is ''anti-people'' and the people in the state have become ''anti-Government'', Mr Rudy said adding that the Government had to put on hold, many projects bowing down to public pressure like the Regional Plan-2011, six-lane expressway, Mono Rail, Mopa airport, international cricket stadium at Socoro, SEZs, and the proposed shopping mall at the heritage Old GMC complex.
