Silver declines, gold recovers
Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) A mixed trend was seen again today as Silver was down by Rs 105 per kg even as Gold recovered by Rs 15 per ten gm on the Bombay Bullion Exchange.
Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 19,965 per kg. Later, it improved slightly and closed at Rs 19,975 with a huge loss of Rs 105 from yesterday's close.
In London, Silver fell at USD 14.00/14.03 per troy ounce against USD 14.09/14.12 per troy ounce in New York.
However, standard Gold (99.5) and pure Gold (99.9) opened weak at Rs 9,345 and Rs 9,395 per ten gm respectively on thin buying support.
The yellow metal recovered and closed at Rs 9,420 and Rs 9,470 per ten gm respectively with a gain of Rs 15 each from its last close.
In London, Gold also edged up to USD 686.35/689.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 685.00/688.95 per troy ounce in New York on Monday.
