Rahul's statements are senseless: Ashok Singhal

Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Terming Rahul Gandhi's remarks on the Babri Masjid demolition ''senseless'', VHP President Ashok Singhal today said his statement exposed his ''resentment towards the sentiments of the Hindus in the country''.

Talking to newspersons here, he said Rahul's remarks proved that he wanted the Masjid to remain there for ever.

The Amethi MP had recently said during his ongoing roadshow in Uttar Pradesh that the Babri Masjid would not have been demolished had someone from the Gandhi family been the Prime Minister.

About Union Minister Baalu's recent statement that the Sethu Samudram Project was being implemented at the spot identified by the BJP-led NDA government a few years ago, he said though the BJP identified the spot they never recommended to construct the channel through the present route, destroying the Ramar bridge.
