NSCN cadre with arms held

Itanagar, Apr 17 (UNI) A huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered from one NSCN(IM) cadre at Kanubari in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh recently.

The 23rd Battalion of Assam Rifles, posted in both Tirap and Changlang districts, intensified its drive against underground outfits since last three months, official sources said.

A gunny bagful of arms and ammunition, including one 7.62 mm SLR, one M-22 rifle, ammunition besides combat dress, diary containing telephone numbers of the other members of the outfit and other incriminating documents, were recovered by the army from the said cadre.

Meanwhile, in another incident four NSCN(IM) militants were arrested with arms.
