NMCE offers BSNL's latest MPLS connectivity as fourth option

Ahmedabad, Apr 17 (UNI) National Multi-Commodity Exchange has signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to introduce Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution based on Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) as the fourth option for connectivity channel to its trading members.

At present, NMCE provides three connectivity channels to its members through Leased Line, VSAT and Internet, a NMCE release said here today.

MPLS is one of the latest VPN technologies available on date to provide secure, faster, scalable network connectivity through BSNL Network Operation Centre (NOC) at Bangalore. It has other features like 'Bandwidth on Demand' and 'Committed Bandwidth', and has multiple ring redundancy, ensuring high uptime to the end-users.

The newly introduced network will facilitate the members across the nation to connect to NMCE trading system through BSNL. The members will have to obtain a 64 kbps local leased line circuit to the nearest MPLS node of BSNL. MPLS-based VPN connectivity is available in three categories -- Gold, Silver and Bronze -- depending upon the number of terminals or the member's requirements.

In coordination with BSNL, NMCE Technology Department takes care of the members' applications in the prescribed format.
