New set up for Forest department

Bhopal, Apr 17 (UNI) A cabinet sub-committe looking into the new set-up of the Forest department in Madhya Pradesh has recommended at least two promotions to the employees in their service period.

Another proposal under consideration is to upgrade the departmental posts temporarily for five years and thereafter to make the number of higher posts equivalent to the present strength with many officers retiring during the period, official sources said.

In the new set-up, promotion from Forest Guard to Forester and from Forester to Deputy Ranger would be possible in 20 years and 14 years respectively. The strength of Deputy Rangers, Foresters and Forest Guards would be 2750, 5500 and 8250 respectively.

The sub-committee, headed by Commerce and Industry Minister Babulal Gaur, is looking into the department's new set-up.
