Naxalite an extra-ordinary problem : Arjun

Ranchi, Apr 17 (UNI) Union Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh today termed as ''extra-ordinary problem'' the growing Naxalite activities, saying a ''liberal'' approach was needed to contain the menace instead of solely resorting to ''strong force''.

Addressing a crowd here on the occasion of state-level ''School Chalen Hum'', Mr Singh said Naxalite activities no more remained a simple matter and it turned out to be an extraordinary problem.

He said the misled youths, who joined the underground outfit, should be made to realise they could not achieve their goals through violent means.

He said the government was ready for talks and the Naxalites should reciprocate simultaneously to get their grievances addressed thorugh discussion.
