Nagpur MLAs demand Monsoon session be held in Orange city
Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar told the Lower House that no decision has been taken regarding holding the Monsoon Session of the Legislature in Nagpur.
''The suggestion arose during informal talks and no decision has been taken. All members' views will be taken into consideration while deciding on the matter,'' Mr Kupekar said in response to a query by Sudhir Mungantiwar (BJP), who represents Chandrapur assembly situated in Vidarbha region.
Devendra Phadanvis (BJP), who represents Nagpur (West) assembly in the Lower House, said ''The suggestion is extremely good and we would welcome you in Nagpur.'' Before the commencement of the Budget session, the suggestion to hold Monsoon session in Nagpur came up as many members found it difficult to come to Mumbai during the period in view of heavy rains. Members from outside Nagpur found it difficult to bear the winter.
