Mysore varsity okays 6 new BEd colleges
Mysore, Apr 17 (UNI) The Mysore University today approved the starting of six new B.Ed colleges and granted affiliation to as many as 147 colleges.
The approval was given in an Academic Council meeting of the varsity here, presided over by its Vice-Chancellor Dr J Shashidhara Prasad. The new colleges -- three in the city, two in Mysore district and one in neighbouring Mandya district -- would have an intake of 100 students each from this academic year.
The Council also decided to accord deemed university status to Amrutha Vishwa Vidyapeetha's B.Ed, BSc and BBM courses. It approved the starting of new post graduate courses in seven educational institutions.
