Modi urges PM to intervene for peace in Uganda

Gandhinagar, Apr 17 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today wrote a letter from Japan to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, expressing concern over the atrocities committed against Gujarati diaspora in Uganda.

When Mr Modi on his visit to Japan heard the news of violence and killing of a youth in Gujarat, he decided to write the letter to the Prime Minister, an official release said here.

In the letter, Mr Modi urged the Prime Minister to take up the issue of safety of the Gujarati diaspora in Uganda, the release added.
