Maersk line to run block train b/w B'lore-Chennai

Bangalore, Apr 17: Maersk Line today announced launch of an exclusive and dedicated block train between Bangalore and Chennai with Concor for supporting the trade with fixed Day Departures and Arrivals from Bangalore and Chennai.

The service would ensure that the trade got the best transit time to connect MECL2 (the US east coast service of Maersk Line) which arrived at Chennai every Friday at 0300hrs. Through MECL2 the trade would get direct coverage for US east coast but also to all major ports in Europe and Africa.

To benefit exporters, the train would leave Bangalore in the morning hours on wednesdays and reach Chennai the next day. In the return journey, the train would leave Chennai Tuesdays and reach Bangalore the next day, the release said.

The unique door to door service has, once again, highlighted Maersk Line's ability to offer innovative products in the Indian trade the release said.
