Nagpur, Apr 17 (UNI) A group of irate residents ransacked the office of a Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DyMC) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) today over the scarcity of water in their ward.

The residents of ward number 103 in the city had gone in a big group to the office of DyMC Gopichand Rathod to complain about the problem, a spokesman for NMC said. Mr Rathod was not in the office at the time, he said.

Members of the delegation then broke some earthen pots in the office to lodge their protest, he said.

They also damaged furniture there, and threw around some chairs and files kept in the office, the spokesman said.

The delegation later met Municipal Commissioner Lokesh Chandra and apprised him of the problem, he added.
