Jabalpur, Apr 17 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has urged Congress workers to take to the streets against the ''anti-people'' policies of Madhya Pradesh's BJP regime.

''The Centre has doled out adequate funds for schemes aimed at benefiting farmers and labourers but state governments are not utilising the finances and also attempting to steal credit,'' he said here last evening at a function in former Minister Chandrakumar Bhanot's residence.

Claiming that the Congress would emerge as a force to reckon with in the Uttar Pradesh hustings, the visiting leader added that the electorate's leaning towards his party was enhanced after MP Rahul Gandhi's ''effective'' rallies.

Mr Hooda attended the inauguration of the Medicinal Saplings Exhibition Hall today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University.
