Guidelines for fascimile editions of foreign news papers modified
New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) The Government today modified the guidelines for publication of newspapers and periodicals dealing with news and current affairs and publication of facsimile editions of foreign newspapers.
Under the new rules, the requirement of prior clearance of Information and Broadcasting Ministry for engaging foreigners/NRIs has been waived.
As
per
the
amended
Clause
4(iv)
pertaining
to
basic
conditions/obligations,
''the
entity
shall
be
liable
to
intimate
the
names
and
details
of
any
foreigners/NRIs
proposed
to
be
employed/engaged
in
the
entity
either
as
consultant
(or
in
any
other
capacity)
for
more
than
60
days
in
a
year,
or,
as
regular
employees.
The
entity
shall
be
liable
to
dispense
with
the
services
of
such
persons
if
not
their
security
was
not
found
cleared
subsequently.''
Earlier,
the
clause
read
as
''all
entities
shall
obtain
prior
clearance
of
the
Ministry
of
Information&Broadcasting
of
any
foreigners/NRIs
proposed
to
be
employed/engaged
in
the
new
entity
either
as
consultants
(or
in
any
other
capacity)
for
more
than
60
days
in
a
year,
or,
as
regular
employees.''
