Gemini Comm bags Rs 58cr order from Punjab govt
Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Leading IT infrastructure provider Gemini Communication Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs 57.60 crore from the Punjab goverment, it said today.
The project, covering about 2,085 government schools in rural and urban areas across Punjab, would be on a lease, maintain and transfer model for five years under the information and communication technology education in schools.
Gemini's responsibility will be to set up the entire networking in the school, install the workstations and servers with all the software and also maintain the infrastructure.
Teachers and instructors employed by the government will utilise the infrastructure to provide computer education to the students.
With this project, Gemini will now deploy more resources in North India and can strengthen its base to service clients in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, a statement said here.
Apart from this, Gemini also plans to open a sales and support office in Chandigarh to provide support for the project and at the same time expand its client base in that region.
