Funds for rural drinking water facilities in Meghalaya
Shillong, Apr 17 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released an amount of Rs 1330.85 lakh to Meghalaya towards additional release under the Accelerated Water Supply Programme under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission during 2006-07.
Official sources here today said the release was being made for execution of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools.
Around Rs 25,49,000 has been released to the state as extended first installment for undertaking IEC and HRD activities relating to National Rural Drinking Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Programme during the year 2006-07.
