First Homeopathy University in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Apr 17: Rajasthan will soon be home to the first homeopathy university in the world.

Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari said the government has issued necessary approvals for the setting up of the university in the private sector in the state. He added, ''It will be the first of its kind in the world''.

The minister, while speaking at the annual function of the Dr MP Homeopathy Medical College here today, said with the establishment of the university the Indian system of medicine will get a boost in terms of research and dessimination in the country and abroad.

The minister said the Knowledge Commission has recommedend establishment of 1500 new universities by 2015 in the country and such a massive task could be accomplished only with the help of the private sector.

He said even now about 85 per cent of the higher educational institutions were in private sector while only 15 per cent were in the public sector.
