DMDK observes fast

Puducherry, Apr 17 (UNI) Volunteers of DMDK here today observed a fast at the Marappalam junction to protest the lathi charge on the Thengaithittu villagers on Friday last.

The protestors also demanded that the government should drop the port development project, which they claimed would affect the entire Puducherry region.

It might be noted that police resorted to lathi charge when the villagers took out a mock funeral procession with an effigy of Health Minister E Valsaraj and burnt it.
