Centre releases SGSY fund for NE states
Aizawl, Apr 17 (UNI) The Ministry of Rural Development has released its final instalment of Central share towards restoration of cut on account of late submission under Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) during 2006-07 to the Northeastern states.
Planning department officials here today said that Rs 5.98 lakh has been released to Mizoram, Rs 51.91 lakh to Tripura, Rs 51.27 lakh to Meghalaya, Rs 4.51 lakh to Arunachal Pradesh and Rs 5.97 to Sikkim under SGSY scheme during 2006-07.
Grant-in-aid as the first instalment of Central share amounting to Rs 13.71 lakh to South Garo Hills of Meghalaya; Rs 22.80 lakh to Mon of Nagaland; Rs 26.42 lakh to Thoubal and Rs 16.50 lakh to Ukhrul of Manipur has also been released under the scheme, officials stated.
The amount would be utilised as per the approved guidelines of 75:25 ratio by the Centre and the State. The states would release its share within one month from the date of release of Central assistance.
The States have been instructed to submit utilisation report of State and District Levels Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting within this month else the first instalment of 2007-08 will be held up.
