Budget session ends: Monsoon session from July 16

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Both Houses of the Maharashtra Legislature were prorogued by Governor S M Krishna at the end of the month-long Budget session here.

Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar and Chairman Shivajirao Deshmukh read out the prorogation order in the Legislative Assembly and Council respectively.

The Monsoon Session of the State Legislature will be held in Mumbai from July 16.

In the Legislative Assembly, Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar said 21 sittings of the Lower House were held. Out of the total 150 hours of proceedings, 11 hours and ten minutes were wasted. As many as 109 questions were discussed during the question hour and 272 calling attention notices were taken up for debate. The total number of bills passed was 14.

The Session began on March 14 and the budget was presented on March 22.
